Our Annual Meeting is about Trudging the Road: The Journey Not the Destination. We welcome you and your partner to join us from February 21 - 23, 2025.

You also have the opportunity to register and join us for a pre-conference men's or women's retreat, beginning on February 20th in the afternoon.

Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of donations from those who have attended our past meetings, there are funds to provide a small number of complimentary registrations to persons who are doctoral level health care professionals in recovery or struggling with addiction. The scholarship applies only to the meeting's registration fee and not to travel or hotel accommodations. Preference is given to those who have not attended before.

To request consideration, send an email before January 10, 2025, giving background information about your current situation, as well as a statement about why there is a need for a scholarship. Include your full name, degree, full mailing address, and phone number where we can contact you for a brief conversation. Send the email to [email protected].

Special Rate for Special Circumstances

Have you, in the past, attended as part of a couple with your spouse/partner and your circumstances have changed? You can now attend as an individual by requesting the spouse/partner rate. To make that request, send an email to [email protected] giving your full name and phone number where we can contact you for a brief conversation.

Donations

Along with your registration, you can include a tax deductible donation to support scholarships or Western Doctors in Recovery with your payment. Western Doctors in Recovery is a 501(c)(3)non-profit corporation with Employer ID # 83-4019809. Your contribution is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Experience many shopping locations close by. The Shops at La Jolla Village are a fifteen minute walk where you can experience restaurants and their unique outdoor mall. Or a five minute drive to shop nearly 200 stores, from high-end retailers to popular brands in the outdoor mall at Westfield's UTC.

La Jolla Shores Beach

The beautiful La Jolla beach is just a ten-minute drive from the hotel and offers a mile of shoreline along the Pacific that includes a boardwalk, parks, and picnic areas, as well as locations for swimming, surfing, and scuba diving.

Torrey Pines State Beach & Natural Reserve

Located just north of La Jolla, and one of the most picturesque areas in San Diego, this beach and adjacent reserve offer more than 2,000 acres of outdoor recreation, including wildlife watching, hiking trails, and scenic surfing on the Pacific.

When booking your room through the Western Doctors room block you receive the following amenities:

- Complimentary Destination Fee of $25.00

- Complimentary internet in the sleeping rooms

- Overnight Self-Parking Discounted to $25.00 per car

- Your pets are welcome at Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine, just let them know prior to you and your dogs arrival! Please note dogs may not exceed 50 pounds each and limit 2 dogs per room, not to exceed 75 pounds total.

**Please note that while the Hotel allows dogs in the guest rooms, they will NOT be allowed in the meeting spaces. Kindly keep this in mind when deciding if you will be bringing your pet with you to the annual meeting.

Fees

Early bird registration fees will be in place until December 20, 2024. After that date, regular registration rates will be in effect. The price will also increase when you register on-site.

Refunds

Cancellations and requests for refunds will be honored until February 7, 2025. For cancellations received before February 7, 2025, 100% refunds less a $75 fee, will be made if requested, or the amount paid may be transferred to a future meeting (2026 or 2027 only) or transferred to a tax-deductible donation to Western Doctors in Recovery (a 501C-3 nonprofit corporation). For the donation , a letter of acknowledgement will be sent to you for your tax records.

Dinner Ticket for a Guest

Your registration fee includes dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings for those individuals who are registered for the conference. If you have other guests who would like to attend dinner, additional dinner tickets need to be purchased during the registration process. Tickets to dinner will be part of your on-site registration packet. Dinner tickets will be collected at the door, for each banquet.
